CYCLING DRESS.
Tyrolean hats of the Brigand shape appear to be considered tho best and the most becoming. The brims and crowns are of different colours ; some have double brims, with 'rosettes of ribbon between the two. Canvas hats are well suited to this amusement, being light and not likely to be hurt by weather, but they are not cheap. Now that women seem to think it necessary to have crests and monograms on their cycles, ribbons have been prepared embroidered with the same. The boots are corrugated on the soles. The jackets end at the waist, and have tight sleeves, and open to show vests of contrasting colour. The skirts are as wide and as long as it is possible to wear them to be safe. Shoes are preferable to boots, though the Americans do not think so, and the gloves with eyelet holes down tho back and perforated palms, or with a sort of open lacework outside, and leather on the palms, are worn, to the exclusion of almost any others, by cyclist-sin the country.
