Reports from Simla state that the force dispatched by the Indian Government to the north-western frontier to cope with the tribesmen in revolt now numbers 59,000 men ana 90 guns. The railway lines from Meerui to Peshawar are blocked, and trains laden with camels and mules, which are urgently needed at the front, have been for several days awaiting engines. Many of the animals are dying. Brigadier-General Yeatman Briggs has recaptured Sargoli, and relieved Fort Gulistan.
