ALLEGED "TOTE" BETTING.
At Dunedin, yesterday, Deteofci yes O'Briet and MoGvath raided the chop in the Arcade of Barnott and Grant, turf commission agents, and arrested Grant and two clerks, named Broad and Whelan. Grant was charged withbsmg the occupier of premises where " tote " betting \ra« carried on, and
the clerks with Aiding and abetting. The police seized a book found in the office. Those arrested were afterwards bailed out. jt js understood thai; another place was muled, but no cvideneo was foiui'l to show it was used for bettin j purposes.
