THE FRENCH PRESIDENT IN RUSSIA.

President Faure was present at a review of 20,000 troops at KrasnoyeSelo, the summer camp of the Russian Imperial Guard, sixteen miles from St. Petersburg. At the luncheon the President said that the French Army has commissioned him to express to the Russian Army their reciprocal confidence and confraternity in arms.
At a luncheon given by the Czar in honour of M. Faure, his Majesty said the French President's presence created a fresh bond between two friendly and allied nations, both of whom were equally resolved to maintain peace.
August 27. M. Faure has distributed many honours to Ministers and courtiers, as well as costly gifts. Over 800 honours have been conferred on the army and navy. The Czar has given presents to M. Hanotanx and the French officers.
The Czar took farewell of M. Faure aboard a Russian cruiser, the President kissing the Empress's hand.
Speaking at a luncheon, M. Faure referred to the graceful and superb welcome accorded by the Russian people. These great events established an intimate friendship between France and Russia, who now were two friendly and allied nations, united in brotherly order. The Czar, replying, made complimentary allusions to. France.
