DECLINE IN "WHEAT.

London, August 25. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,010,000 quarters, and for the 1 Continent 950,000 quarters. Tallow—Mutton, fine 20s ; medium 18s 6d. fine 19s 3d ; medium i7a 9d. :■'**■:■

Shares—Australian and New Zealane per cent, debentures stock, 109.

Silver is qoioted at Is llfd per oz. Wheat at Mark. Lane has declined Is a quarter. The American visible supply is estimated at 22,168,000 bushels.

New York, August 25.

In the American markets wheat has declined five canfc3. owing to heavy sales at Chicago.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company, limited, have received the following cahle message, dated London, 25th August:—•

Tallow—There is a good demand, and the market is steady.

Wheat —Stocks light, and there are poor reports of the Continental crops. New Zealand wheat, f.a.q., is nominally worth c.i.f. to arrive, 40g per 4801b,

Messrs Dalgety ancl Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 25th August:—

"Good demand iot all sorts of tallow. Since our last telegram prices of mutton and mixed tallows are unchanged, but beef tallow, good to prime, is a shade firmer."
