THE JUDGING AT BLENHEIM.
To the Editor.
Sir,—l write to you to express; my opinion on the judging at the Blenheim Poultry, Pigeon and Dog Show held here to-day. In the Collie dog class Mr C. P. Williams's Sandy McTavisli took first last, year, but to-day, though he was looking very well, he was dismissed without even being commended. Now, the judge must have vastly altered his opinion in twelve months, or I think he would have given Sandy a ticket. There were only two dogs in that class that did not receive cards, and Sandy was one. There were fifteen docs in that class. You would think that, if Mr Clifford was judging by the same standard as last year, he would have given Mr Williams's dog a card. I cannot think why this dog was unnoticed by the judge. I like to see every dog have a fair and square chance.—l am, <fee, R. Sinclair. Omaka Kennels, Blenheim, July 30th. To thk Editor. Sir, —Can you allow mc a small epace to express my disgust at the judging of the Fox Terriers at the late Dog Show held on July 31st. Mr Griffiths's Belvoir Spot took second prize last year to Mr Pursers Belvoir Toff. This year* Mr Purser's Belvoir Toff was nob shown, but Belvoir Spot, who was in splendid condition, was not noticed by Mr Clifford. The other Fox Terriers shown this year were a very inferior class of animal, being very long-legged, and having very b«dly carried ears. I cannot understand why the judge did not place Belvoir Spot first after the good opinion he passed on him last year. Ido not think Jumbo has any qualities entitling him to be placed first, nor Nap to place him second.—l am, &c.,
Jeremiah 0. Hbndric, Blenheim, August 2nd.
