SPORTING.
The Araberley Steeplechase Club's meeting takes place to-day. A special train, leaving Christchurch at 9.5, will convey excursionists to the scene of the sport. Oar contributor makes the following selections for the, different events :—Maiden Hunters Steeplechase, Kuku; Handicap Hardies, Vagabond ; Brackenfield Plate, Balcaira 1, Red Coat ■'£; Ladies' Bracelet, Piccolo; Tally-ho Handicap, Kuku; Hunters Plat, Prospect*
