MISTAKEN IDENTITY.

AUCKLAND, August 25.
The case of Mr A. D. McKay, who was arrested on a warrant on a charge of stealing oysters, value Is, and afterwards liberated on account of the case being one of mistaken identity, was brought up at a meeting of the Court Nil Desperandura, Ancient Order of Foresters, to which McKay belongs. Great indignation was expressed at the action of the J. P. who signed the warrant, also at the treatment which Bro. McKay stated had been meted out to him by the police authorities. Bros. Lee, P.C.R., and E. Nordon, P.C.R., were appointed a deputation to wait upon Bro. J. J. Holland, M.H.R., and the Hon. Thos. Thompson, Minister of Justice, in order to obtain some redress for the injured brother.
