THE GOVERNMENT ENTOMOLOGIST.
Captain Broun, the Government Entomologist in Auckland, and two of his assistants will, says the Wellington Post, be engaged for the nest two months in eradicating phylloxera from the Whajigiroi district. He has sent to Wellington 100 of the small flies which he has found are in the habit of destroying the mealy bug, so that a stock may be bred for distribution in the South Island.
