CONGESTION OF GOODS TRAFFIC.

TO THB EDITOR OF THE PRKSS. Sir, —With reference to the complaints that are made as to the utter inability of the Railway Department to cope with the goods traffic at Christchurch Station, I trust our city members will bring the matter before the House of Representatives and insist upon the Government voting a sum of money to provide more trucks and more shed room, as the local Managers cannot overtake the work unless they are supplied with the necessary appliances. At the same time, our members might also insist upon new offices being built for the goods department, as the present dog kennelearea disgrace to the Government. —Yours, &c,

Importer, Christchurch, 25th August, 1897.
