Percy Cavill, of Sydney, won the; quartermile saltwater championship at Skegness, Lincolnshire, beating Derbyshire by five yards, in 4min 50sec. The other competitors in the quarter-mile were Naylor and Ross. J. H. Tyecs, holder of the championship, did not start. Derbyshire won the 200 yards race, Cavill being close up second.
