In the House of Commons, the Speaker overruled all the suggestions made by the Committee on the Employers' Liability Bill dealing with the question of compensation to be paid to workmen for aeeidents, excepting the suggestions by Mr H. J. Tenn&nt providing for compensation for injuries to health arising from.the nature of the employment. Sir M. W. Ktdley oppose<l the exception, on the ground tbat it would imperil the Bill. Mr John Barns and Mr supported it, but tlie wa3 negatived-by SM *" An amendment, embracing within the scope of. the Bill all -workmen except domestic menials and servants, was rejected by a majority of 78.
