GOVERNMENT EXPERTS.

TO THE EDITOR OF TUB PRESS. Sir, —This seems to be tho age for " exports," and now we have got a poultry one. is this the outcome of the Hen Convention ? There has been a fearful amount of cackle going on, and now there is hatched out a fully fledged expert, A punning acquaintance of mine says he ought to be called an " eggspert," but what can you " eggspect," he says, from the Socialists (police!), is the State going to nationalise all the fowl yards, and have collectivism applied to bantams ? Sir, it is really scandalous the way the poor birds are deprived of choir eggs, instead of being allowed to hatch themout. It is quite contrary to nature, and ought to be seen into by a Royal Commission. Fanoy the "officials of the Railway Department teaching their grandmothers how to suck egge! It is to be hoped the imported birds will be of the right colour, with really liberal ideas as to egg-laying; if not, we shall want the services of a Conciliation Board. When is the expert business to come to an end? Why nofc have a babies-bottle expert, or a cat's meat expert, or a blue-bottle fly destroying expert? The whole thing is rapidly becoming a farce of the first mag nitmcLe- -TSTomrs , &.c 9 » Cock-a.-doodle-j>os't. f fiTT Ml W'
