ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Frederick Aitken, three-years-old son of Mr David Aitken, of Lees ton, died on Monday night from the effects of accidental burning on Saturday. His clothes caught fire when his father was burning rubbish iv the garden, and injuries were inflicted from which the little fellow did -not recover.

Miss Annie Watt, who met with the accident at Taylor's Mistake on Monday, died yesterday afternoon from the injuries she received. She was tweotj-one years of age. An inquest takes place at the Lancaster Park Hotel at 5.30 p.m. to-tday.

FEILDING, May 25.

A three-year-old son of Mr T. Straw bridge, of Halcombe, was run over an! killed by the train last evening at Makino station. The child had been assisted on to the carriage platform, and just as the train was moviug fell between the rail. An atttempt to rescue it was unsuccessful, and the child's body was almost cut in two. WELLINGTON, May 25. Mr A. P. Stuart, formerly a well-known merchant in Wellington, died of syncope to-day. REEFTQN, May 25. News was received this afternoon that two men, named Farrelly and Shardey, while engaged on the road to Victoria Range, were injured by a dynamite explosion. No particulars are to hand, but it is reported that their injuries are serious.
