London, May 24. Lord Roberts has been appointed Chief . Marshal in command of the Forces in connection with the Jubilee procession, and Colonel Ivor Herbert, of the Grenadier Guards, will occupy the position of Colonel of the Colonial Forces.
Amongst the arrivals ho participate in the Jubilee celebrations are detachments of the Cape Mounted Rifles, the Borneo, Cypriote and Sierra Leone Police, the Haussas of West Africa and the Indian native forces.
The General Committee in connection with the Diamond Jubilee celebration will hold a meeting this evening. It takes place at the City Council Chambers at 7.30 o'clock, and is open to all who take an interest in the celebration.

AUCKLAND, May 25. Bishop Cowie's commissary, in a circular to the members of the Anglican Church, urges the erection of a school for Native girls, similar to the sohool for Native boys at. Parnell, as ,a fitting memorial of the Queen's Record Reign. The Trustees of Stephens School Estate will grant a suitable site.
WANGANUI, May 25. At the Borough Council meeting this evening, it was resolved that the Council celebrate the Queen's Record Reign Day in a fit and proper manner, and further, that the Council take over the whole responsibility of; the grand pyrotechnic display on the racecourse, which has boen proposed by a body of citizens. It was also resolved that all Friendly Societies, athletic Clubs, school children, &c., should take part in tbe formation of a footpath and plant a grand avenue of British oak trees, leading up to the Hospital from the Cemetery road, as a lasting memorial of the occasion. The Volunteers and athletic Clubs will also take part in the celebration.
