Nuttail, the English champion swimmer, announces that he is willing to swim Percy Caviil, the amateur champion of New South Wales, who recently left for England to take part in the Record Reign swimming events, for any sum over £200 a side. DIAMOND ROBBERY. A diamond recently sold by Aaroa Jacob and Co., diamond merchants, to the Nizam of Hyderabad for _800,OQO, has been stolen and replaced by a paste imitation. The diamond was intended as a Jubilee present to the Queen. SHIP ON FIRE. News has been received that the ship Buokhurst, from Newcastle (Australia) to Panama, was abandoned a 1 sea on the 9fch inst., her coal cargo having caughb fire. The vessel was still burning when the crew took to the boats. The captain and a portion of the crew landed at Punta Arenas, the chief port of Costa Rica. CONFERENCE OF COLONIAI, PREMIERS. The Directors of the Co-operative Wholesale Society have invited the Colonial Premiers to a Conference on the subject of colonial produce. ITALY'S FOREIGN POLICY, Rome, May 24. The Chamber of Deputies, by a majority of 89, approved of the Marquis Rudini's foreign policy. THE KING OF GREECE. Athens, May 24. The King is completely isolated from popular support.
