ROAD BOARDS.

HEATHCOTE. The monthly meeting of this Board was held on April 2nd. Present—Messrs Malcolm (Chairman), McHaffie, Martin and Mace. Apologies were revived from absent ' members. It was resolved to build a light traffic bridge across the river at Kirk's ford, St. Martin's, subject to the Board receiving dedication of land for a roadway through R.S. 706 from Mr H. B. Mildren, St. Martins, Hillsborough and Valley wards. Accounts amounting to £115 were passed for payment.

MANDEVILLE AND RANGIORA.

The monthly meeting was held on April 9th. Present—Messrs G. Wallace (Chairman), Moody, Keloher, Stalker and Luxton. Letters were read from Railway Department, refusing to erect gates and level crossing at. Mr Molntosh's, Sonthbrook. From Mr Buddo, recommending that overflow of storm water from Banner Downs Gully should be diverted into Ashley at Ricard's road, and a groyne put in at Dalziel's road. It was decided to inspect and report on 22nd. An account was received from Ashley Road Board for maintenance Ashley brid«e and Mount Thomas road. It was docided to draw the attention of that Board to its charge for supervision. The Surveyor recommended holding over claying of the sand hills road and willow sucking in the Cust at Lilly's road. The annual balance showed receipts £2535 6s 4d, and expends* tore £2434 lis. A hearty vote of thanki was passed to the Clerk for his clear state* ment of the accounts, and the annual meet* ing was fixed for May 4th, and election ol three members in place of Messrs Stalker, Luxton, and Moody. Mr A. Railway's tender for re-pairs Ashley-Kaiapoi road was accepted. Tho receipts were £569 13s 6d,» and the Bank credit £103 13s 9d. Accounts ■£248 lis 6d were passed.
