VOLCANIC DUST.
Clouds of volcanic dust fell in Napier early on Tuesday morning, settling on the foliage of trees and the flowers. Residents when they went into their gardens were led to believe that there had l>een a severe gale during the night to bring such dust. Captain Apstein, of the s.s. Kawatiri, reported meeting with a cloud of dust when off Flat Point.
