A MEETING of the RATEPAYERS to consider the above proposal will be held on TUESDAY, JANUARY 12th, 1897, in the Merivale Schoolroom, at 8 o'clock p.m. 1108 NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Sydenham, commonly ealed the Sydenham Borough Council, and hereinafter called " Council," at Special meetings, held on November 16th and 17th, 1896, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, and of all other powers eunbhnsf it theruunto, did resolve to make a "Special Order" TO MARK BY-LAWS for the Borough of Sydenham, as follows :— (a) A By-law, to be designated By-law No. 7, to resju- ? late the Sale of Meuii, Milk, and all other kinds of Perishable Provisions ; to provide for the Inspection of Dairies and Cows used or kept for the supply of milk within the Boroujf a ; to regulate the Kredion of Houses not having-a frontage to a street; to prevent the Overcrowding of Residents in Houses; to provide for the Inspection aod Licensing of Common Lodirms; Houses ; to provide Regulations for [ Public Baths; to Prevent the Accumulation and Repilate the Kvinoval of Nijrht Soil, and to Prevent the Deposit or Burial of Night Soil or •other offensive matter in any place within the Borongh ; to Regulate the Erection of Privies and Cess Pits, and to Compel owners or occupiers of property to Connect their Privies or Cees u ools with Public Drains ; to Regulate the Cleansing , of Streams, Sewera and Sumps, and to Prevent Nuisances, and Preserve Public Order, Decency, Health) Comfort and Convenience of the Boroujjh. (1)) A By-law, to be designated By-law No. 8, to Regulate the Naming" of Streets, and Numbering , of Houses, Spouts and Drains from Houses, Crossings over Footways and Channels; to Prevent Injuries to Streets ; to Provide for the 3 Repairing of Private Streets ; to Regulate the Storage of Dangerous Goods, Erection of Barbed Wire fences, Driving , of Cattle, and Punish Owners of Cattle found at large ; to Regulate ' Weighbridges and Weighing of Goods ; to Provide /or the« Licensing and Regulation of Hawkers and Pedlars, Theatres, Music Halls, Dancing , Hnlls, and Buildings used for Public Meetings and other Places of i üblic Performance or Amusement, and to Preserve Public Order, Donenoj', Health, Comfort and Convenience of the Borough. The said By-laws to come into force on January lat, 1837. Copies of the'said Ry-laws are open to the Inspection of the Public at the Office of the Council, and will remain open to'such inspection during Office Hours till December 21st, 1896. A SPECIAL MBETING of the Council will be held at the Council's Offices, at 8 o'clock, p.m., on MONDAY, DECEMBER 21st, 1896, for the purpose of Confirming the said Resolution.
