Tuesday, August 18. (Before W. D. Lawrenco, K. Jones, and W. Langdowu, Esqs., J.P.s). Dronkknnkss.—Frank Gribben, who was unable to leave the Hospital, was further remanded for a week. Patrick Faulls, for ilnmkeuuess, was fined ss, and, for using obscene language, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. Tho«. Rooney and two first offenders wore each fined 6s or the usual alternative, and a first offender, who was in charge of n horse and cab, was fined in a similar amount. (Before U. Beetham, Esq., S.M.) Civil Casks.—Edwards v Percy, claim £6 15s lid, balance due on an account for drapery, &c. Mr Kirk appeared for the plaintiff , , Mr Franks for the defendant. The account was found to be incorrect, and the case was adjourned till August. 25th. Ward v Broadley, claim £11 2s, balance due tor a crop of potatoes bought while in the ground. Mr Swarm appeared for the plaintiff, Mr Scott for the defendant, who alleged that the amount agreed upon was conditional on tho weight of tho yield. This had fallen short, and plaintiff, having paid more than the proportional value of the potatoes delivered, was not further liable. Judgment was for the plaintiff for the amount- claimed, with Court costs only. Ashby, Bergh and Co. v Poarpoint, claim £23 16s 5d on judgment summons. Mr Cowlishaw appeared lor the creditors. The defendant did not appear and was ordered to pay forthwith, or, in default, eleven weeks , imprisonment.
