Begarding a report which has been in circulation during the past lew days that the steamer Kakaia could not be taken into the Calliope docfc, it may be stated that the Harbour Board authorities have looked into the matter and find that by raising the blocks on the floor of the dock another foot, there will be plenty of room for the steamer. The Rakaia has left for Wellington, but returns next week, when she will be floated into the dock. The Marramarra, a wooden steamer ot 45 tons register, recently bought in Sydney by a New Plymouth gentletriao, has arrived in the Manukau' after a passage of seven day*.
