George ■ Musgrove, the partner of oar " Jimmie'' Williamson, formerly of Wallack's theatre,' and now the theatrical king o£ Australia (says Neio York Spirit of the Times of Jan. 18), ha 3 effected some very important engagements daring hie visit to New York, and has practically opened the antipodean colonies to American professionals. Besides taking to Australia the entire Artist's Model company, he has signed contracts for tours ot a Trilby company, a Trip to Chinatown company, Mrs Pro wn Potter and her company, andN. C. Goodwin and his company. The Trilby organization will sail from San Francisco, March 5, and open at Melbourne; the Mrs Potter company, April 30, and open at Sydney; the Trip to Chinatown Troupe, May 28, to open at Sydney, and N. C. Goodwin, June 25. The best people, have been engaged, and will include Blanche Walsh or Edith Crane, for Trilby;. Bessie Clayton, Anna Boyd, Harry Conor, and George Beane, for a Trip to Chinatown. Manager Mnsgroye says that the season in Australia opens in May and.June, when our season 13 closing, j snd that the voyage'is safe and pleasant: and tha enterprise is sure to be profitable. These contracts bring Australia into the theatrical union and will go a long way towards bringing it into the inevitable union of free republics that must eventually encircle the globe.
