ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) AUCKLAND, March 12. An accident of a serious nature befell the Hon. W. Jennings, M.L.C., yesterday afternoon, at Waitekauri. He was riding along the road when his hat blew off, and Mr Jennings watching his hat, did not notice a sharp bend in the road, round which bis horse shot and flung the rider off on to his side on the road. He 'fell heavily and had two ribs broken, besides injuring hie shoulder and arm. v^ NAPIER, March 12. A boy named Martin, son of a fisherman, fell off Pore Almriri bridge while walking alone the top rail, and was drowned. WELLINGTON, March 12. John Stannard, a stockman, was rushed by a bullock at Johnsonville, and had three ribs broken, and was otherwise injured severely. The animal made most determined attempts to gore him, but fortunately its horns passed under his arms and the bullock was at last driven off. TwV onlookers were so scared that they fell off the fence of the stockyard, and one hurt himself badly, and was unconscious for some hours.
