RAM AND EWE FAIR.

The annual Ram and Ewe Fair under the apapicea of the Canterbury A. and P. Association openod yesterday at Uie Show Grounds, Adrliugton, the wcattier being fine, though a chilly wind;>wae blowing. The rain which fell in Ihf morning and looked likely to coutinue cleared off beiore the hour of starting the (ales. There was a large attendance of Oauterbury and Ouiyo breeders, bub none from the North Island. Mr P. Bnrko, the Association's caterer, had charge of the luncheon arratigtunenU. All the etud ewes offered, with one exception, were passed. Tbere was a fair demand for Ihe stud rams, but no exceptional prices were.obtained, 16gs for & Lincoln, 16ge for a Border Leicester, and ZQga for an Koglish Leicester being the highest recorded in those bieede. Tho Book Lincoln mina were almost all offered when the closing hour came, a considerable proportion of these changing hands at prioes ranging from |gs to 3Aga. It will take the whole of 10-uuy to gee through ike balance of tho flock sheep. There waa • not much delay in the selling yesterday, as the time limit wtvs striclly enforced, three minutes being Allowed for stud and two minutes for flock sheep. The Hon. J. T. and Mr H. P.
