(FBESS ASSOCIATIOX TBLEGRAM.) LKVIN, March 11. " At the Horowhenua Commission to-day Major Kemp's examination was finished. His cross-examination was postponed {till his return from Parihafca, for whioh place he and his people are leaving to-day to attend the meeting re Maori federation. Mr Stevens, M.H.R., appears on behalf of Warena Hunia, whose examination is now proceeding. Mr Hone Heke asked the Commissioners if they can consider the claim of Hene Te Whatanui, who based his claim on a gift from the conqueror of the territory. On the Commission resuming after lunch, the Commissioners announced that they could net entertain Heke's, application, as the claims were disposed "of by the Native Land Court judgment in 1873.
