Mr John Duthie, M.H.R., returned from the South by last night's express. Mr and Mrs P. Campbell leave for a trip to the West Coast to-morrow. Mr Charles Reid, Elderslie, o*maru ; Mr John Murray, Orari; Mr H. IT. White, Mount Snmers ; Messrs D. Graut and E. H. Dobson, Lowcliffo, Hinds, came to town last evening.

Mr D. Bowman returned to Christchurch by the express last evening. Mr E. Jones, Pabau ; "Mr Martin, manager, Gleumark; Mr W. Thomson, Balmoral; Mr D. Rutherford, Leslie Hills ; Mr W.Rutherford came to town by last evening's train. Mr it. J. S. Harman and the. Van. Archdeaooa Hurpor went south by the express yesterday. Major Donald, ,Wairarapa, and Captain Lomax, Wauganut, went by the same traiu. Messrs W. Goodwin, G'enroy ; L\ Manson, Craigieburn; J. H. Divison, St. Leonards ; G. W. Mcßse, Glens of Tekoa ; J. C. Huddleston, Rotheram ; D. D. Macfarlane, Lyndon; W. Thompson, Balmoral; A. Macfarlane, Achray; F. G. Wilson, Culverden; D. Inuea Barron, Waiai; R. Blundon, Bennett*; and R. Hall, Port Levy, are in Christchurch.

Mr Wagstaff, Timaru, returned home yesterday. Mr T. Brydone and Mr L. A. McPherson arrived from Dunedin last night. Mr J. Murchison 4 Lake Coleridge, and Mr C. F. Todhunter, Westeriield, are iv town.
