Wednesday, Mahoh 11. There was a large entry of stock in the yards to-day, and a very large attendance, especially of those interested in store sheep. ~ Fat , Cattle—There was ;an average entry of fab cattle, a few lots being good steers and the. balance cows and heifers, most of which were of moderate quality. There was a fair demand, and prices were without quotable change, beat steers and heifers making 18s to 20s, and cows- 13s to 17s per lOOlba. Steers realised J35 to £8 per head, heifers £4 10s to £7 7s 6d, and cows £3 10s to £6 17a 6d. , , Daiby and Store Cattle—There was a. fairly large.entry of dairy cows, only a few of which were good useful sortß. There was a rather better enquiry, and sales were effected up to £7 10a. The entry of store stock was larger than for several week* paßt, in addition to the usual mixed lots there beiug several small lines' of calves, yearlings and two-year-olds. . The sale ,was ~ a dull one, but a few lots changed hands a* follows :—Calves 5s to; 10a 6d, yearlings 26« to 30s, 15 to 18-months-old 42s to 4SB, 2-year-old heifers £3 12* 6d, 2£-year>ol4 steers and heifers £3 17s 6d to £4. . . Pigs—The yarding of pigs was a fairly large one, and a better demand was shown forstores, while baooners and porkers told up to late values, namely s£d per lb.. The range of prices per head , was large— Baconers 30s to 455, smaller do 27a td 29s 6d, choppers 25s to 37s 6d, porkers 13s 3d to 24s 6d, small stores 3s to 6s 6d, larger do 7s 6d to 18s. Stoke Sheep—There was a very large entry of store sheep, and a good demand was manifested for good breeding ew.es and forward two-tooths. Sales were effected at the following figures :—Lambs 5s 3d to 7a 9s, 2-tooths 6s lOd to 9s 6d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 7s 9d to 10a Bd, mixed 4 and 6-tooths 7s Id, 2. 4 and 6-tooth crossbred ewes 5s 9d to 5s lid, 6 and 8-tooth do 6s to 7s 9d, aged do 3s. 4d to 4s 4d, halfbred Down ewes 7s sd, halfbred ewes 7a 3d, boilers la Id to 3s 4d, aged merino ewes 8d to la Bd, 2 tooth Shropshire Down ewes 10s 63, 4-tooth do up to 12s 6d, and 6 and 8 tooth do up to 12s 3d. Fat Lambs—Fat lambs were sent forward in fairly large numbers, and freezing sorts showed a alight shrinkage in values, white butchers' lots sold at late rates. Freezers made from 8a 6d to lis 9d, and butchers* lambs 4s 3d to Bs. Fat Sheep—There was an average yard* bag of fat sheep, ewes predominating largely, while freezers were in short supply. Thers was little or no alteration in. prices, which were as followß:—Prime freezing, wethers 10b 6d to 12s 6d, heavy-weight wethers 13s to 14s sd, wethers and maiden ewes 9s to lis 9d, best crossbred ewes 9s to lis 6d» butchers' sorts 5s 6d to 8a 6d.
