Two Famous Rides.—D. S. Bowman rode from Dunedin to Christchurch, a distance of 240 miles, in twenty-three hours forty-three minutes, reduoing the previous best time by forty minutes. The rider, who had to face bad roads and baffling winds, used the same machine throughout the journey. Mr Fabian rode from Napier to Wellington in twenty-two bours forty miuutes, one hour faster than the previous best time. It is worthy of note that both these liders used tbe same make of machine, namely, the "Swift," Waller, Myhre, and Co., Sole Agents, 48 Manchester street.— [ADVT.] The cigarette that soothes and does not tirriate is Indian Uhisf. 7
