Offerings of grain in the local market on Saturday were more extensive than they have been yet this season, the bulk of what was submitted being wheat, although there v. ere also a fail qaantity of barley seeking an outlet, and a few lines of oats. Samples varied considerably in character, those from the light lands being generally thin and prematurely ripened, whilst from the heavier soils some exceptionally fine qualities were seeD. Amongafc these was one of more than average excellence, consisting of some 500 eaeka velvet chaff, and 500 Tuscan, which realised 3a 4id and 3s 4d f.o.b. re-

spectively. Fair average quality lines brought 3s 2_d to 3s 3£d f.o.b. for Hunter's, 3s 3id to 3s 4d for Tuscan, and 3s 4d to 3s 4£d for Pearl. As far as we can learn, these v.-ere the top prices obtainable.

Oats were not offering in any appreciable quantity, and values remain steady at Is 8d to Is 9d, country stations.

Barley—Medium qualities were the principal, prime lots being apparently few and far between.

Peas remain as last quoted, and Beans have not yet come fairly into the market.

Oatshbaf Cuaff is in rather slack demand at 42s 6d to 455, country stations.
