NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the County of Selwyn intends, after the expiration of thirty "days from the publication of this notice, to EXTEND a "VATER-RACE within the WAIMAKARIRI WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT in the said County, whioh extension shall commence at a point on the western boundary of R.S. 7850 and shall extend thence in a northerly and easterly direction through R.S. 7850aud easterly direction through R.S. 4897. And notice is also hereby given that for the purpose of extending such water-race, the said Council intends to acquire the interest of the owners and occupiers in a scrip of land twelve and a half links wide, being part of R.S. 7850 and 4987, as shown on the plan hereinafter mentioned. And notice is also hereby given that a plan showing the course of such extension, and the lands, roads, and reserves over or through which it is intended that the same shall pass, and certified as required by sub*-section (2) of section 13 of The \Yater-_uppiy Act, 1891, has been deposited at the Magistrates' Courthouse at- Christchurch, and also at the office of the said Council, and that the said plan will be open to public inspection at the said places for a period of thirty days after the publication of this notice. , Dated at the Chambers of the said Council at Christchurch this 18th day of February, 1896.
