Many of the vessels which foundered during the cyclone at Townsville have floated, including the steamer Alexander.

The floods at Rockhampton have caused serious damage to the navigable portion of the river. There has been a great erosion of the banks, and the Satellite channel is a third wider than it was before.

Hobart, February 18. A rich lode of tin has been discovered at a town called Gould's Country, 172 miles from here.
