SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Riccarton Committee was held on Tuesday. Present! —Mr J. 15. Hanson (Chairman), and Messrs Atkins, Brake, Jarman, Marsh, Kowland, and Thomson. The head master reported that the two fourth year pupil teachers bad passed all their examinations, and it was decided to advertise for a female papil teacher, applications to close on Monday next. The examination report of Mr Wood was received, and it was unanimously agreed to place on record the Committee's hearty appreciation of the work done by the bead master and his staff in obtaining saoh splendid results. It was decided that the school picnic should be held at Purau, and a BubCommittee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements.
