Mails close for the following plaoee as under, subject to the necessary alterations :— MONDAY, DECEMBER 30 For Greymoutb, per \Vare»,tea, at 11.10 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.20 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Porta and Westport, per Omapere, at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m. ; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Akaroa, per Bry&uer, at 11.10 a.m. } late fee letters, 11.20* a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Greymouth, per Taupo, at Z p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Westport, per Orowaiti, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 0 p.m. train. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31. For Northern porta and Australian colouies, per Tarawera, at 11.10 a.m.; late fee leitera, 11.20 a.m. ; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train.

Note—Oα Wednesday, January let (New Year's Day), the Post Officn will be closed in all branches. Mails usually despatched on Wednesdays will close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 31st instant, and the Post Office will be open on that day from 9.30 till 10.30 p.m. for a counter delivery of letteri usually delivered by letter carriers. Mails for Suva, per Upolu, will close at Auckland, 4 p.m., January 2nd. The next mail for Chatham Islands will close on January 2nd.
