HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB'S SUMMER MEETING.
(PBESS ASSOCIAriON TELE3RAM.) NAPIEB, December 26. The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club had a perfect day for their summer meeting, the weather being beautiful. A large number of the officers and crew of H.il.S. Katoomba were present at the special invitation of the Club and the former were entertained by the officials of the Club. The course was in srjlendid order and the times recorded fast. The sum of £4315 was passed through the machines, the best dividend being ou Tor* pina in the Christmas Handicap, £6 4s. The following are the results :— WELTER HANDICAP, of 50 soys; once round— Triton, Bst 121b, 1 ; Hippojrriff, Bst, 2; Heavenly Twin, Bst, 3. Seven started. A good flnUh. Dividend, £5 18s. HANDICAP HURDLES, of 60 soys; ono mile and a half—Hopeful, list 121b, 1; Tollv-ho, 9st 51b, 2; Kiwi, 9st 51b, 5. Five started. Won easily. Time, 3min 15sec. Dividend, £2 7s. SUMMER HANDICAP, of 160sovs; second 15, third 5 from stake; one mile and a naif—Spindrift, Bst 81b, 1; Searchlight, Bst 51b, 2; Orion's Bell, 7st, 3. Seven started. A fine race. Won by half a length. Time, 2min 42 2-sth sea Dividend, ££ Vis, TRIAL HANDICAP, of 40 soys; once round—Martyrdom, 7st 51b, 1; Uooseonder, Sat 21b, 2; Primula, 6st 121b, 3. Ten started. A close finish. Dividend, £3 7s. TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP, of 75 »ovs; flvn furlongs—TrenUlto, 7et 91b, 1; Lorenzo, 6st 101b, 2; Bijou, 7st 101b, 3. Six started. Won easily by three lengths. Time, lmin 5 2-sth sec. Dividend, £1 18s. BOXING DAY HANDICAP, of 50 soys; second 5 soya from stake; one mile—Rip Van Winkle, 7st 91b t 1; The Shrew, 9st 21b, 2; AUan-a-Dale, 6st 131b, 3. Won easily. Dividend, £3 Bs. POST STAKES, of 30 soys; once round—Aphony, Bst lib, 1; Tawhara, 7st 71b, 2; ulenfleld, 7st 71b, 3. ■ Won with the greatest ease. Time, lmin 56 4-sth sec. Dividend, £1 7s. CHRISTMAS HANDICAP of 100 soys; second 10 : soys from the stake; six furlongs—Torpiua, Set 91b, 1; Amoureux, Bst 91b, 2; Searchlight, Bst 81b, 3. Eight started. One of the best races ever ,eeen on the course. Won by a short uose. Time, lmin IT 2-sthsec. Dividend, £6 4s.
