(FROM OUR COKRKb'I'ONDENT.) AUCKLAND, December I>. A meeting of the Committee of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club waa held last eveuing. It was decided to ask J. McKcan to give another trial over the half-mile on Monday eveniug, and if he should succeed in covering the distance in 2min 4sec, he will be included in the team. J. A. Kallender will at the same time throw the hammer. Martin and Pilkingtou leave for Christchurch by the s.s. Takapuna oa Monday next. The remainder of the testa will follow by Thursday's steamer.
(PRESS ASSOOfAMOK TELE-RAM.) WELLINGTON, December 15. On the Basin Reserve yesterday evening, Stuart, who will probably represent Weilington at the Christchuroh gatherings, ran half a mile in 2mio Usee. Perrett and Smith walked a mile- iv 6iiiin 58s.c, but the style in which they walked resembled more of a jog-trot, and it is doubtful whether competent judges would pass such as fair heel and toe. There were rib judges last night. The track was a trifle holdiug.
