PRESENTATIONS.
On Friday evening, at the KaiapoiWoollen Mills, Messrs Simpson, Ellen and Bugg, as a deputation of the employees, waited on Mr James Leithhead, the mill manager, at his office, where they, on behalf of the workers at the mill, made him a present of a handsome silver tea and coffee service, on the occasion of his approaching marriage. Mr Leithhead said he was quue taken by surprise, and said he shouid highly priz. the present as an evidence of the cordial relations which existed between himself aud those in the service of the Company.
Last Friday evening the members of the mothers meeting connected with St. Saviour's, Sydenham, presented Mrs Scott with a very pretty Japanese table cabiuet, in token of their appreciation of ber never failing kindness to the members. The meet ing, which was founded about two and a half years ago by Mrs Scott, and meets weekly under her presidency, is largely attended. The cabinet was chosen by Mesdames Large and Brady, who have been members of the society since its inauguration.
Dr. Innes, one of the staff of the Wellington Girls' High School, who is about to be married to Miss Lichtscbeindl, of Sydney, a former pupil of the institution, was presented, at the breaking np of the school for the Christmas holidays, with a tray containing a china salad bowl, jam dish, and biscuit jar, all silver mounted, as a mark of the esteem in which he is held by the pupils. Mr J. R. Blair, Chairman of the Board of Governors, on behalf of the Governors, congratulated Dr. Innes on the step he was about to take, and spoke in very high terms of the young lady he was to marry. Miss Cora Hickson, Dux of the school, offered Dr. Innes the congratulations of the pupils, aud Misa Mary Fleming then hauled him the tray of articles mentioned. Dr. Innes briefly acknowledged the kindness of the young ladies. Mr R. A. Chisholm, of the Bank of New Zealand, who is removing from Timaru to Invercargill, was given a farewell banquet on Friday night, ft was well attended by representative commercial, professional, and agricultural gentlemen. A purse of sovareigus was presented to him.
