SAILING.
The race of the Brighton Sailing Club on Saturday afternoon was for the over sixteen foot championship. Both wind and tide were favourable to making a fast race, and as a result the winner, Alcyone, succeeded in completing the course in 58min, thereby lowering the Club record by 7min. Waitangi also put up a good performance, finiuishing second about five minutes behind Alcyone. In the evening a very pleasant time wat spent at the Brighton Hotel, when the two champion flags were presented to the owners of the respective winners.
