The New South Wales cricketers arrived bytheTalune at 2.45 a.m. They will bo formally received this morning, and leave for Christehurch in the afternoon. Cobcroft is captain. Austin was unable to get away at the last moment, and Hume, another bowler, replaces him. !_.___ The New South Wales cricketers were welcomed at the Counoil Chambers by Hon. Mr Reeves, who bade them welcome on behalf of the cricketers and of the Government, and by the Mayor, who received them on behalf of the city. The team have a practice to-day on the Reserve before leaving. Callaway, one of the New South Wales team, while fielding a ball at a practice this afternoon, injured his left thumb severely, and will not take part in the match against Canterbury.
