SENIOR CUP MATCHES.
MIDLAND v LANCASTER PARK. The long-drawn-out match between theae teams was brought to a conclusion at Hagley Park on Saturday, when the Midlandera were returned victors by five wickets. There was & larger attendance than usual, and the weather was all that could be desired. At the start of the play the Midland wanted 123 runs to wia, and Wheatley and Lawrence were the first pair of batsmen to face the bowling of Guuthorp and Labatt. At the outset runs came bub slowly, but after a few overs they came more freely, and the score was taken to 56 bsfore Wheatley was caught *nd bowled. Treweek, the next tuau, ran himself out a few overa later and made room for De Maus, who opened with a fine hit to leg for which 7 were run. Lawrence was dismissed with the score at 75, and De Maus was bowled at 95. T V V. Reeae and Pearce raised the total to 103 before the former left, and rheu Pearoe and D Reese kuocked off the remaining runs, the Midland thus winning as above stated. The fielding of the Lancastrians was good, witti the exception of an easy chances being missed. The following are the scores :—
