Downie, arrived yesterday morning from Greymouth with a cargo of coal and timber. She sailed again the evening for Dunedin. The schooner Annie Hill arrived yesterday afternoon from Auckland. She wi'l be loaded outward, for Hokianga, by Messrs Pitcaithly, Wallace and Co. The schooners Rock Lily and Lily got away yesterday for Colliogwood aud Greymouth respectively. The ss. Rosamond arrived yesterday evening from Greymouth. The fine cargo steamer Bauffshire, Captun Coull, arrived yesterday morning from Port Chalmers, ana was berthed at No. 7 wharf She takes in a quantity of cargo at Lyttelton, and is expected to sail on Sunday for London, via Las Palmas. The arrival yesterday morning of the s.s. Banffshire brought the number of large ocean-going steamers at present in Port lo four. The-e fine vessels represent an aggregate gross tonnage of 19,799 tons, and considerably improve the appearance of the shipping at the wharves. The ketch Clematis goes on the patent slip this morning for cleaning and painting.
