RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.

Monday. The morning was a beautiful spring-iike one, and there was a large number preseut to witness the work, which was of au interesting character. Silver Spec, with sweaters on, completing a circuit by herself, was joined by Goodwood, but had to be ridden all the way to keep with the chestnut, who ran home by himself. Goodwood, wha moves short when commercing, is looking in capital trim. Booties performed half pace work, a3 did Chrystal and Roscius moved in pleasing style at three-quarter speed for three rounds. Sir Izaak and Pilgrim were kept at half pace. War Dance also had a light task, but Shauks was sent by himself over the schooliug fences, jumping well. Norton, Mr Gollan riding, went out for a school with Lascar. Norton jumped down the last of the obstacles, but otherwise fcuced in his usual accomplished style. Lascar was given steady exercise twice round the tan. Austral and Bonafide were sent a round at top, the latter haviog the steeplechaser in trouble at the end. After working steadily, Despised was joined by Ulster and left behind two rounds, the last at top speed. Royal accomplished long strong work, and Mainstay and Rotoma in company did similar exercise. Barnardo had Solano for a companion in strong work. The hunter horse was sore on pulling up. Nero and The Bishop went out to school in company, but the latter, who had Redmond in the saddle, ran rouud repeatedly, and Nero, fencing well, went on by himself. Repo put in strong work, and bo did Jewel, Strath Braan and Social Pest. Triton and Mystical jumped off from the six furlongs post, and ran home at top, the former finishing in front. Liberator was sent once round at racing speed, pulling up weli, while Couranto and Mutiny were likewise stretched out for a round after having gone at good striding pace for a circuit. Both travelled with great dash. Donald McKinnon, by himself, moved freely over some two mile*, and Variety was pulling over Rags at the end of a round. Pahau, the Timaru bunter, was sent strong pace wor_, and his companion horse Rawai was schooled with Pastime. Both "felt" the timber, but fenced well. The Timaru horse has a nice style ef moving, aud is a likely looking horse. Glengarry and Boomerang, after going at half-pace came_ - away for the last six furlongs of their exercise. Miss Madge was allotted three-quarter speed work, going a mile and a half. Jumping off from the mile post Vogengang had Minerva to bring him home four furlongs; the jumper was of little use to the chestnut. The hunters Cable and Blackbird were given strong work. Kahurangi was given steady pacing. He is fast picking up from the knocking about he received. Sunspot and Gabel-el-Terik set out for a turn over the hurdles iv company ; the latter, however, stopping, Sunspot went on by himself. Marechal Neil was jumped over the new schooling couutry, and showed himself a regular adept. King John moved freely over a couple of circuits fast. Auroa was not stripped. Victim, who looks bright and well, with Briu were sent a couple of rounds, the last fast. Swivel was given stroug work, as was Much Ado, but Empire had a light task. Kulnine was not out.
