ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A young man named Alfred Bird was walking paat the Bank of New Zealand on Wednesday night wiien he slipped on the frozen snow. He fell heavily on his shoulder and fractured bis collar-bone. He was at once taken to the Hospital, where his fracture was attended to.
On Thursday the body of Mr Abraham King, an old mao, and well known at Oxford, was found in the water near the footbridge at West Oxford. The deceased had been missing a few days. An inquest will be held.

AUCKLAND, July 11. The body of a female infant was found this afternoon on a vacant allotment in Hobson street iv an old skirting. There was no apparent cause of death. Dr. MacKellar makes a post mortem. Detectives are investigating the affair. John Moriarty, a gam-digger, while taking shelter in a squall in the VVaikarakara bush, was injured by a falling tree, and died at Kawakawa while en route for the Auckland Hospital.
