I am glad to see that the old time runnet and champion sprinter, J. H. He cap ton, has received well-earned promotion in the Wellington Customs Department. We all know Hempton's prowess as a sprinter, and on and off the track he has always been a credit to amateur athletics* which I hope ia not now to lose his active support on the track.
