In the senior matches on Saturday Linwood beat Christchurch by eight points to three points; Kaiapoi won against North Canterbury by eighteen points to seven; East Christchurch versus Merivale was a draw, each side scoring three points, and Canterbury College went down before Sydenham by nine points to nothing. The position of the club 3is now:—Linwood, 6 points ; Merivale 4£ points ; Christchurch and Kaiapoi, 4 points each; North Canterbury and East Christchurch, 2 points each ; Sydenham, 1 i points; Canterbury College, 0.
