LINWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL. IT is hereby publicly notified that it is the intention of the Linwood Boromrh Council, at a Special Meeting to be held at 7.20 p.m. on Monday, the 24th day of June, 1895, to MAKE and LEVY the following RATES :— 1. A General Rate of Three Farthings in the Pound upon the rateable values of the rateable properties within the Borough of Linwood, made under the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, and the Rating Act, 1894, for the year ending 31st day of March, 1896. 2. In pursuance of a special order made by the South Waimakariri River Board, a Rate of Three Sixty-fourths of a Penny in the Pound upon the rateable values of the rateable properties within the Borough of Linwood, made under the provisions of the River Boards Act, 1884, and the Rating Act, 1894, for the year ending 31st day of March, 1896. 3. In pursuance of a Special Order made by the Christchurch Drainage Board, a Rate of Three Farthings in the Pound upon the rateable values of the rateable properties within that portion of the Borough of Linwood lying within the district of Christchurch Suburban, and a Rate of Three Farthings in the Pound upon the rateable values of the rateable properties within that portion of the Borough of Linwood lying within the district of rural Heathcote, made under the provisions of the Rating Act, 1894, for the period commencing on the Ist day of January, 1895, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1895. 4. A Rate of One-Eighth of a Penny in the Pound upon the rateable values of the rateable properties within the Borough of Linwood, made under the provisions of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885, and the Rating Act, 1894, for the year ending 31sd day of March, 1896. 5. A rate for the removal of nightsoil of 3-16 th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable values of such rateable properties within the Borough of Linwood as have a house or houses erected thereon, made under the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, and the Rating Act, 1894, for the year ending 31st day of March, 1896. The said rates, will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of June, 1895. The debentures bear interest at the rate of £4.J per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, on the Ist January and Ist July in each year, and have a currency of twenty years from Ist July, 1895. No tender below par, or for less than £50, will be considered. Allotment will be made to the highest tenderers first, and downwards until the amount of the Loan is absorbed.
