NORTH NEW ZEALAND GRAND NATIONAL MEETING.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, June 6. A large number of visitors were present on tho Ellerslie course this morning. Liberator, after travelling once round the course proper, was joined by Esparto, the pair running a rouud at racing pace. Liberator had his companion in trouble at the finish. Ebor aud Norton were associated together in a couple of rounds on the same track at their best pace, and Norton bad a deal the best of Che gallop. Union Jack aud Belle pub in a couple of strong rounds on the tan, Belle finishing tho best of the pair. Fishmonger compassed three rouuds on the tau ab a sound pace. Bonovoree did steady work. Amalgam and Stray Shot were restricted to half-pace working. King John and Variety were schooled over the hurdles; the last named jumped very badly. Kildare and Levanter compassed two circuits of the tan at about threequarter-speed. Kathleen and Clayton did slow work. The pony Phaeton (. Clayton), engaged in the Pony Hurdle R ice, failed to pass the standard this morning. Ladybird has been struck out of the Grand National Hurd c Race. There is very little betting to report. Liberator is receiving good support for the double, 15 to 1 is the best pri.e on offer about him. Mr Gollau's pair, Ebor and Norton, are still quoted favourites at 12 to 1.
