Ard well showed the way for a furlong, when he was passed by Villiers, and the latter came on followed by Ardwell, The Owl, and Cayenne, with Reprobate last. In this order they ran until just below the distance, when The Owl drew clear of Villiers, Cayenne, and Ardwell. Now keeping in front the f -vourite won by a length; six lengths divided second and third. Ardwell was fourth, Reprobate fifth, and Lucy Walters last.
