KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A special meeting to pass accounts was held on Tuesday. Present—The Mayor (Mr Feldwick), Crs Weston, Hopkins, Clark, Simpson, and Drabble. The year's receipts were £1914 6s lOd, and the expenditure, including overdraft on March 31st, 1894, £779 8s 7d, was £2520 2s 6d. The balance in the bank and cash in hand at March 31st, 1895, was £605 15s 7d. The accounts were passed subject to the audit, fifty copies to" be printed. It was stated that there was little or no demand for the printed copies, and only a few were needed for exchange with other monicipali' ties. The question of immediate repairs being required to the Cam traffic bridge was mentioned, and it was decided after sending an urgent message on the matter to the MandeviUe Road Board, which had taken no notice of the Council's letter to it, to proceed with the work, and charge half tbe cost against that district. The Council then adjourned.
