PALMERSTON NORTH, May 21. At the Police Court this morning George Storey, telegraphist, of the local post-office, wae charged with opening a letter addressed to Mrs Richards, Ohau, on May 14th. He was committed for trial. Bail was allowed.

The Invercargill South School Committee resolved to ask the Minister of Education to introduce an amendment to the Education Act giving Committees voting powers in electing members of Education Boards in proportion to the average attendance, and suggesting as a fair basis one vote for each school up to 100 average attendance, and an additional vote for every 100 exceeding that number.
