The Uuiou Company's steamer Manawatu has been stranded iv the Wanganui river since Tuesday morning. An individual at Kiramaa, on the West Coast of the South Island, reported to the Marine Department that on the 30uh of January he observed rocket) being discharged from a vessel in the vicinity of Rocks Point, but as no vessel is missing little heed is paid to the report.
